Cavanagh General Contracting transformed Algonquin College’s former gym and weightlifting facility into a state-of-the-art Level 2 Biosafety laboratory. The project included extensive demolition and abatement, major structural upgrades, and the installation of advanced mechanical and electrical systems to meet strict biosafety standards. From reinforcing the roof to support heavy mechanical units, to integrating specialized HVAC, fume hoods, and custom lab casework, every detail was executed with precision and safety in mind. The result is a modern, high-performance facility designed to advance scientific education and research.
