This auto showroom and maintenance garage was completed in the summer of 2023. It is a steel-framed building clad with insulated metal panels and incorporates curtain wall glazing, multiple overhead doors, and stone accents. The building features a flat roof with a modified bituminous membrane and sits on a poured concrete foundation with a radiant-heated slab-on-grade floor throughout.
The space is divided into four distinct areas: a finished showroom and photo centre; a service garage with multiple functional spaces, including a wash bay, parts room with a conveyor system, drive-through estimating bay, and sloped, trenched repair bays; a public reception and lounge area; and a second-floor office and lunchroom for staff, complete with locker rooms and showers.
This project was completed for a prominent local business in Carleton Place, directly across the street from the existing Bean Auto Centre. The location gave the owner a front-row seat to construction activities and allowed for timely decisions on site. This close collaboration enabled us to accommodate several design changes throughout the project while maintaining the original construction schedule.
