Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited (TCCL) was engaged as General Contractor to assume responsibility for the Corkery Community Centre Expansion after construction was already underway. Working within a Design-Bid-Build delivery model, Cavanagh assessed the existing work, completed extensive remediation, and successfully delivered a fully operational municipal community facility.
The project required detailed investigations to evaluate the condition of the partially completed construction and identify deficiencies before work could proceed. Remediation included sandblasting, mould abatement, selective demolition, replacement of steel stud framing, and installation of a new air barrier system to ensure the building met quality and code requirements.
Following remediation, Cavanagh completed the exterior building envelope and full interior fit-up, including architectural finishes, mechanical and electrical systems, final commissioning, and site works such as grading and landscaping. Through strong construction management, technical expertise, and close collaboration with project stakeholders, Cavanagh successfully delivered a high-quality community facility that will serve residents for years to come.
