Overview:
Responsible for keeping all the necessary pipe components, crews tools and rigging hardware staged and organized above the trench before installation. This person is also responsible for general labour. This individual is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks/responsibilities efficiently and effectively. They will meet quality standards and production targets set by the organization. They will follow established procedures, guidelines, and best practices. It is important that they maintain open and constructive communication with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Finally, they will show punctuality and reliability in fulfilling work obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for keeping all the necessary pipe components staged and organized above the trench before installation
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Responsible for the maintenance and organization of the crews tools and rigging hardware
- Operate mechanized equipment such as quick cut saw, diesel plate packer, jumping jack compactor, impact drills and a variety of other hand tools
- Strong understanding of hoisting and rigging requirements for pipe and shoring boxes
- Ability to maintain inventory of pipe components required to complete the job
- Responsible for cutting and beveling pipe before installation
- Strong understanding of industry torque specifications for watermain installation
- Signals equipment operators to ensure a safe and proper excavation around overhead utilities
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- access to a reliable vehicle
- 2-3 years of experience

Wage Range:
The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $30.00 and $39.50 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
