Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Laying bricks, measuring out areas, and repairing or maintaining existing structures

·        Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights

·        Using equipment and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks

Requirements:

·        Prior brick laying experience is required

·        Valid drivers license and own transportation is required

·        Ability to work long periods of time and work in all weather conditions

·        Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Model Home Attendant – Patten Homes

Model Home Attendant (Part-Time)

Location: Carleton Place, Ontario & Stittsville, Ontario

Patten Homes is the home building division of Thomas Cavanagh Construction.  For more than 25 years, Patten Homes has been exceeding the hopes and dreams of our clients by blending style and functionality in the quality homes we build.  Patten Homes is looking to increase their construction volume and will be opening, and building, several new communities over the next few years.  As we grow, we will continue to focus on the quality of product as well and providing a wonderful client experience.  We are currently building a Team of experienced individuals to help make Patten Homes the Builder of Choice in Ottawa and surrounding areas.

The Model Home Attendant will work in a Model Home and Sales Centre acting as a representative of Patten Homes and be the first point of contact for prospective purchasers. This is a Part-Time role working Thursday and Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM with the flexibility to accommodate additional hours as required. The position will also be responsible for filling in during holidays and other peak periods.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Touring clients through model homes

·        Providing information on Patten Homes, our communities, our models and our finishes

·        Answering client questions to the best of your ability

·        Entering client information into the corporate database

·        Supporting the Sales Manager & other Sales Staff

·        Ensuring Model Homes and Sales Centre are clean, fully stocked, and presentable at all times

·        Other general duties as required

Requirements:

·        Strong customer service (CS) background with prior experience in a CS role.

·        Must have a valid license and access to a vehicle.

·        Must be available to work in-person, evenings, and weekends (Saturday/Sunday).

·        Must be willing to travel to different Sales Offices as required.

·        Good organizational and time management skills.

·        Computer literacy with experience in MS Office applications.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Accounts Payable Administrator in the Accounts Payable department. As a Accounts Payable Administrator you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently inputting financial data into our accounting system. You will be primarily focused on processing and tracking accounts payable transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, and payments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record invoices to allocate expenses to jobs, accounts, and profit centers
  • Investigate or clarify unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
  • Assist in the payment of vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, scheduling & preparing payments resolving purchase order discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation is maintained
  • Correspond with vendors to resolve discrepancies, answer queries, and request invoices as needed
  • Receive and verify employee expense reports, including company credit cards
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Maintain accounting records by scanning and electronically filing invoices & related documentation
  • Update vendor compliance documentation as needed for payments (WSIB, insurance, etc.)
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an Accounting/Bookkeeping program
  • Valid drivers license and have access to own transportation

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Assist with the formulation and implementation of strategic planning for the sector.

·        Oversee the production and performance of multiple crews and supervisors.

·        Interact with the Project Management Team (PM), clients, consultants, and municipalities to confirm work requirements are met and budgets are achieved.

·        Review plans and specifications, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.

·        Manage crew scheduling to ensure optimization of resources within the division while working with other managers to ensure efficiencies across all departments are realized.

·        Ultimately responsible for the quality of workmanship for tasks completed by the Grading sector by managing quality control protocols.

·        Oversee the financial performance of the Grading division, ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met.

·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports and project records.

·        Update weekly look ahead to identify resource requirements and report the outcome to the VP of Construction Operations.

·        Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members, fostering their professional growth.

·        Continuously assess and improve operational processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.

·        Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.

·        Communicate with engineers or owners to assist in the resolution of issues.

·        Coordinate with local authorities regarding work schedule and inspections.

Requirements:

·        5 to 10 years of experience in a Superintendent role or Operations Manager role in heavy civil construction, specifically grading construction is a requirement

·        Experience working in the City of Ottawa and surrounding area
