Asphalt Project Coordinator

As of April 2026, we will be looking for an individual who is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks/responsibilities efficiently and effectively. They will meet quality standards and production targets set by the organization. They will follow established procedures, guidelines, and best practices. It is important that they maintain open and constructive communication with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Finally, they will show punctuality and reliability in fulfilling work obligations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of asphalt construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the project manager and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
  • Coordinate and track the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment for the project.
  • Prepare and distribute project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and monitor project expenses to ensure cost control.
  • Conduct research and gather information relevant to the project, such as permits, regulations, and specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of project proposals, bids, and contracts.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project team members, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Coordinate meetings, site visits, and inspections, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared.
  • Maintain project files and records, ensuring proper documentation and organization.
  • Support the project team in managing project risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to enhance project success.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in asphalt construction practices.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  •  1–3 years of experience in asphalt or heavy civil construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and active job site environments
  • Valid driver’s license

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $25.00 and $35.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
