Grading Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of grading operations on-site, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. This role involves managing a grading crew, interpreting construction drawings, and working closely with engineers, surveyors, and operators to achieve the required grade

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily grading activities, ensuring work is performed efficiently and to specification
  • Read and interpret construction drawings to establish proper grades and elevations.
  • Use survey instruments to set and verify correct lines and grades
  • Identify potential conflicts or issues and communicate to the Superintendent
  • Direct grading crew and heavy equipment operators to achieve proper grade
  • Work with superintendent to troubleshoot and resolve grading-related challenges
  • Maintain accurate records of daily progress, material usage, and site conditions
  • Ensure adherence COR and company policies are followed on-site

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in grading
  • Strong knowledge of grading techniques, surveying, and construction specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret , construction drawings, and survey data.
  • Proficiency in using survey instruments such as laser levels and GPS equipment.
  • Strong mathematical skills to accurately calculate grades and elevations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively lead a team.
