The General Contracting division at Thomas Cavanagh Construction has proudly provided comprehensive general contracting and construction management services to the community for over a decade. Our privileged engagement extends to overseeing and constructing projects for external clients, as well as contributing internally to various divisions within the Cavanagh organization.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing and reporting on multiple construction projects while maintaining client and trade partner relationships in the industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with all stakeholders.
- Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
- Meet with Owners and Consulting teams in a professional manner and communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company.
- Monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression.
- Engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved and corporate interests are kept in mind.
- Participate in business development with other internal team members to help build and grow the General Contracting division.
- Manage, mentor and train internal staff.
- Maintain up to the minute project information using Autodesk Build project management software and Microsoft Project for scheduling.
- Help estimating with tendering and job showings as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects in the ICI or Condo/Apartment Building industry.
- Architectural or Engineering diploma or degree is considered an asset.
- Maintain extensive knowledge and understanding of CCDC Contracts and Construction Law.
- A passion for interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership development.
- Impeccable integrity.
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Strength in analysis and creative problem solving.
- Experience with COR (Certificate of Recognition) considered an asset.
