Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Using hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites
  • Communicating with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane
  • Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety
  • Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

Compensation:

Overview

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Shipping/Loader Operator for the safe and efficient load out of aggregates. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will report to the Area Aggregate superintendent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a shipping loader at various locations in and around the Pembroke, Renfrew area.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and monthly site safety inspections.
  • Monitor visitor safety compliance and communicate site requirements and orientation to visitors and customers.
  • Preform minor property maintenance at various locations and maintain good housekeeping. (grass cutting, trimming and road maintenance)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a loader in a shipping environment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks in a rugged outdoor environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job site.

  • Surface miner common core with loader operator specialty module is an advantage but not required.

Our well-established construction outfit is hiring a 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic in Ashton (near Ottawa), ON, to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of off-road equipment. Ideal candidates are Red Seal certified with 5+ years’ experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect heavy construction and off-road equipment to identify performance issues, wear, and mechanical failures
  • Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostics and other testing equipment
  • Disassemble, assemble, adjust, and repair major components and systems on heavy equipment
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications

Requirements:

Overview:

The Grading Crew Member is responsible for assisting in the preparation and leveling of ground surfaces for construction, road building, and site development projects. This role supports supervisors in ensuring that surfaces are graded accurately according to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with site preparation, including clearing, leveling, and grading of soil, gravel, and other materials.
  • Work alongside equipment to ensure proper ground elevation and slope.
  • Use hand tools and small equipment to fine-grade surfaces and prepare areas for paving, roadways…etc.
  • Install and maintain grade stakes, string lines, and markers to guide grading operations.
  • Load, unload, and distribute construction materials as directed.

  • Assisting in the coordination of materials and trucks to maintain a continuous supply of asphalt mix.
  • Communicating effectively with the paver operator and other crew members to ensure seamless paving operations.

Wage Range:

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $35.00 and $45.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
