The parts pick-up/delivery driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently and professionally transporting parts, materials and supplies between suppliers and internal customers across multiple company locations throughout eastern Ontario (Ottawa/Pembroke/Jasper/Carp etc.). This role ensures timely delivery, accurate documentation and customer service all while maintaining company vehicles in good working conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and deliver parts, materials and supplies according to daily schedules determined by the material manager.
  • Verify accuracy of parts being picked up or delivered (Part numbers, quantities and condition).
  • Maintain proper handling to avoid damage during transport
  • Report and document any issues with parts or deliveries to the material manager.
  • Obtain signatures and complete required delivery and return documentation.
  • Assist with parts distribution and organization of delivered inventory across multiple stocking facilities (Jasper, Pembroke, Carp, Ashton)
  • Represent Thomas Cavanagh Construction professionally when interacting with vendors and internal/external customers.
  • Communicate any delays, issues or discrepancies promptly and clearly.
  • Ensure a friendly and courteous experience during all deliveries
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal service staff to ensure that needs are met.
  • Operate company Vehicles safely and in compliance with Ontario traffic laws and company policies
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections (fluid levels, tires, lights, seat belts, damage etc.)
  • Report on maintenance needs, safety concerns or vehicle issues immediately
  • Assist with loading and unloading of parts
  • Help warehouse staff with sorting, staging, or basic inventory tasks during slower periods
  • Keep loading/unloading areas organized and safe

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario G class drivers’ license with clean drivers abstract.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60lbs
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow safety regulations.

Pipelayers lay pipe for storm or sanitary sewers, drains and water mains. They cover pipe with earth or other materials, cut pipes to required lengths and help align and position pipe for welding and sealing. They also dig trenches to the desired depths.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dig trenches to required depth by hand or using trenching tools
  • Cuts and moves pipe into trenches, aligns, and joins them
  • Cover pipes with earth or other material
  • Signal equipment operators to ensure a safe and proper excavation
  • Establish alignment and grade with the use of a laser
  • Operate mechanized equipment such as pickup trucks, rollers, tandem dump trucks, front-end loaders, and backhoes

Wage Range:

  • Inspecting heavy construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
